Local action for Planet over Profit campaign

Sheffield Friends of the Earth needs you! This month we’ll be meeting with and writing to local MPs to ask them to support a new law to protect precious forests, endangered species and human rights worldwide.

This is Friends of the Earth’s Planet over Profit campaign. Thousands have already signed our petition to hold UK companies responsible for environmental and human rights abuses. Abuses caused by their global supply chains.

We recently screened the film Savages, which brings to life the value of these precious rainforests and those who live in them – did you see it?

Now we’re campaigning in Sheffield to support Planet over Profit. Please sign the petition to let your MP know they need to put planet and people over corporate profits.

SIGN THE PETITION

We're meeting these MPs in person:

  • Olivia Blake
  • Abtisam Mohamed

And we'll be writing to these MPs, who we weren't able to secure a meeting with:

  • Gill Furniss
  • Louise Haigh
  • Clive Betts
  • Marie Tidball

It’s crucial that MPs see lots of support for our campaign in their constituency. We need them to support a new law – a Business, Human Rights and Environment Act – that holds corporations to account for harm in their supply chains.

Support the campaign by signing our local petition and sharing it with your friends and neighbours. Please forward this email to 5 people in your local area and ask them to take action!

We also need local businesses and community organisations to show their support for the campaign by signing our open letter.

If you have connections to local trade union branches, volunteering groups or small businesses that might be interested in signing the letter then please contact us on admin@sheffieldfoe.co.uk.

Thank you
