Campaigns

Planet over Profit Campaign
  • Planning for the film screening of Savages on 26 March - Shaun will contribute to panel; Sue will order more postcards and leaflets; Claire, Julia and Ashwini will be able to come and help with stall and refreshments. Autumn shared the social media and poster campaign that is underway; they are providing hot water and drinks and will do introduction to the film and chair the Q&A panel
  • Stalls to support the PoP campaign (Claire)
    • Claire will book for 17 May - Pollen Market  (We agreed not to do the alternative fair as much more expensive)
    • Claire also looking at other options June - Sept
    • Still looking at banner options
Climate Change
  • Shaun sent a press release to The Star based on the latest FoE flooding data which they put on the website but where it is difficult to find; it is also available on our website
  • Barnaby attended the Sheffield Renewables AGM and reported back that their finances are currently stable and they were able to donate to Sheffield Sustainable Energy Hub, Heeley City Farm and Tree Planting in Malawi. They have been working with GP practices on installing solar panels, worked with Our Cow Molly on a feasibility study on shifting to sustainable energy use (and EcoFit are taking over the delivery; working also with schools, farms and a bakery on solar and other projects.
Events
  • Yorkshire Summer Action Gathering is in Sheffield on Saturday 4 July 2026 - volunteers will be needed to help organise Sheffield’s contribution to the day - including a presentation on some of our activities and a guided walk at the end of the day. Ashwini will do some research and Claire & Saul are going to try and swap their working days so they can attend. Will ask Simon if children can attend with parents.
  • Ashwini is delivering a Lunch & Learn on Sustainability for Earth Day on 21 April 2026 - she will include information about getting involved with Sheffield FoE.
  • The Together Alliance March is in London on Sat 28 March and there are coaches and trains going from Sheffield.
