General Election Hustings 2024

Between now and the general election on the 4th July there is an opportunity to ensure that all candidates and political party representatives are aware of the environmental issues that matter to their local communities. Some dates and venues for hustings are listed below

Sunday 23rd June

Monday 24th June
Brightside and Hillsborough
Monday 24th June, 7.00 - 9.00pm, at Christ Church, Pitsmoor Rd, S3 9AW

Thursday 27th June
Sheffield Hallam and Sheffield Central Eco-Hustings
Thursday 27th June 2024 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM STC church, Crookes, S10 1UL

Friday 28th June
Heeley Education Hustings
The National Education Union [NEU] is organising hustings focused on education with the candidates from Heeley constituency on Friday 28th June, 6.30 - 8.30pm, at All Saints School, Granville Rd, S2 2RJ.

Monday 1st July
Sheffield Central
Monday 1st July 7pm at ISRAAC, Vestry Hall, 54 Cemetery Rd, S11FP [just behind Waitrose]

If you are free to attend any of these, do consider submitting a question on a local environmental issue and if appropriate highlight the current campaigns. For example: 

"What would you/your party do to protect our local rivers from the unacceptable levels of pollution related to sewage spills?" 

"What would you do to improve the energy efficiency of local housing stock?" 

"Will you/your party support Friends of the Earth's campaign for an Environmental Rights Act to give communities and individuals a legal right to a safe and clean environment".
