Christmas Dinner 2015

We agreed at the last meeting that on 21 December we would have an earlier monthly meeting (6pm) so that at 7pm we could have our annual Red Deer Christmas Dinner.

If you would like to join us then please make your choice from the menu below and pass on the cash to Liddy (e.goyder@sheffield.ac.uk). This prices are £16 for 2 courses or £20 for 3 courses.


Starters
  • Salmon Gravlax - Wild Scottish salmon cured and flavoured with peaty scotch single malt whiskey and dill, served with beetroot salad and Dijon dressing 
  • Roast Parsnip Velouté (v) - Slow roasted and slightly spiced parsnip velouté with artisan bread and cider reduction garnish 
  • Chicken Liver Pâté - Christmas classic served with red onion marmalade and oatcakes 

Mains 
  • Balmoral Chicken - Free range corn-fed chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in smoked streaky bacon 
  • Sweet Potato Wellington (v) - Roast sweet potato smothered in mushroom duxelles and encased in puff pastry 
  • Herb Crusted Salmon - Scottish salmon fillet in a lightly spiced crumb and accompanied by a chilli and coriander buerre blanc 
All mains are served alongside traditional Brussels sprouts, pigs in blankets, candied carrots and parsnips, garlic and herb roasties, mash, winter greens and gravy


Desserts 
  • Vegan Chocolate Brownie (v) - Served with winter berry coulis and Swedish glaze ice cream 
  • Sherry Trifle - A warming Christmas classic with jelly, custard and cream 
  • Brandy Snap Baskets - Served with Strawberries and butterscotch sauce 

Coffee & Mince Pies 

Price includes exclusive use of the function room, which is decorated in a traditional Christmas fashion including Christmas Crackers. Receive a free bottle of Prosecco with every 6 guests.
All of our dishes are prepared in an environment which contains traces of nuts and wheat. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please inform a member of staff when placing your order. Gluten free bread is available on request  "V" = VEGAN

Trisha also mentioned we could bring a doggy bag for any food that we cannot eat on the night.
