Dirty Energy - Day of Action
On Saturday 10th October 2015, Sheffield Friends of the Earth hope to take part in a day of action to highlight Barclays' investment in fracking (Third Energy is 97% owned by Barclays and they want to frack in North Yorkshire). It is hoped that the action will take place from 12 noon until 2 pm in the city centre. We will send out more information by email and Facebook when plans have been confirmed.
Mr Frackhead
On Saturday 28 Novemebr there will be a big climate action taking place in Sheffield (full details to be confirmed later). We have managed to get the Mr Frackhead prop from national Friends of the Earth.

Fracking update from Frack Free South Yorkshire
Dave Burley mentioned:
- In a few months' time, the vast majority (97%) of South Yorkshire will be covered by fracking licences.
- There’s a new group called Sheffield Against Fracking (SAF). Their first meeting will take place on Thursday 24 September at 7.30 pm in the Red Lion on Charles St.
- An anti-fracking film was shown in Thurnscoe.
- Louise Haigh MP is against fracking and she is now on the Labour front bench. She will be hosting an anti-fracking meeting on 3 October at 5.30 pm at Heeley Institute, 147 Gleadless Road Heeley, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S2 3AF
- FFSY have been talking to Rotherham and Barnsley council about fracking.
- FFSY will target each licence block separately street by street.
