The call for evidence has been completed and now there is to be a series of workshops to look at what the commissioners have learnt and how they can then put it into a report document. The target date for this will be 16th October for publication to the council.

Hatfield Colliery
The closure has been brought forward due to lack of demand. The question remains; is it due to lack of demand for coal or excess coal being imported from US as they now have an abundance of gas from fracking which has replaced their coal demand?
