40th Birthday Celebrations

We've achieved our first goal of getting a retro article in the Sheffield Star and we are working very hard on our second goal to make our 40th birthday film festival a success in May. The hat-trick will be a celebration birthday party in October. Planning is well underway and here are the details so far:

We've hired a free room at the Showroom which is conveniently located next to the bus and train stations.  We are planning some short presentations outlining the work we have done over the past four decades and a video showing some of our work. We hope to have a leading campaigner from national Friends of the Earth to speak about the past 40 years and what the future has in store for us. To get the party started we have arranged a vegetarian and vegan buffet with live music. The Showroom has a bar so there will be a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

The event will run from 7.30pm until 11pm on Thursday 16 October 2014 and tickets to cover the cost of the buffet will be £10 in advance.

Cheques should be made payable to “Sheffield Friends of the Earth” and sent to
Richard Souter, 3 Bartle Ave, Sheffield S12 2QR. You will need to include your full name, address, phone number and email contact and the number of tickets required. This information will be used to check people in to the event on the day and to send you your tickets.

More details will be posted in the next few weeks.
