Litter Pick Update - August 2013

Trisha informed us that she has complained twice to Amey about the amount of litter at the bottom of Ecclesall Road, particularly in the vegetation outside the Waitrose supermarket. On both occasions she was told by Amey that the litter had been cleaned up but when she went down to check, she discovered that the area concerned looked no different.

Trisha raised the issue of litter at a recent public meeting with representatives from Amey, who assured her that they were very keen to keep the streets and planted areas clean and to work with members of the public.

We are planning to do another litter pick on Tuesday 3rd September at 6pm at the bottom of Ecclesall Road, outside the Waitrose supermarket. The litter pickers will be retiring to the Wetherspoon's pub, also at the bottom of Ecclesall Road, afterwards, for social drinks and a meal. Please get in touch if you want to help out for an hour or so.

A few days later, on Friday 6th September there is a Streets Ahead workshop. Some members are planning to attend. Again, if you would like to take part then please let us know.
