Launch of the Sheffield Health and Wellbeing Board
The Sheffield Health and Wellbeing Board was launched on 25th April at its first meeting in public in the Town Hall. As required by the Government, terms of reference were agreed.
The Board is the local authority, senior managers in the NHS, a group of local GPs, and one representative of Sheffield citizens through Healthwatch. It must know the health and wellbeing needs of Sheffield –through the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Plan for these needs through the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy
Through Healthwatch work with the public on Health and Wellbeing.
After the formal meeting was over there were round table discussions on a variety of themes. Sheffield F.O.E. represented by Richard Souter, along with other environmental organisations like Sheffield Wildlife Trust and The Soil Association , were able to have an input into discussions such as “Prevention rather than cure” , “Changing lifestyles and behaviours” and others.
