Maureen represented Sheffield Friends of the Earth on Monday 17th May at the new Trade Union group meeting organised by the Sheffield Coalition Against Climate Change group. The group has been formed to create pressure from local trade union groups on local and national government to create one million climate jobs. It is expected that Sheffield could see around 10,000 new jobs.
A further meeting was organised on Tuesday 29th June at St Matthew's Hall on Carver Street to formally launch the campaign. Speakers included Martin Empson (Campaign against Climate Change TU Group) and Phil Turner (Right to Work campaign). For more info contact www.cacctu.wordpress.com or email@example.com
