Green Fair 2004

Sheffield Friends of the Earth attended the Green Fair at St Mary's Church on Saturday 17th July. Apart from raising money for the group we also promoted our green energy campaign by handing out more free energy saving light bulbs and leaflets for green energy companies.

We also handed out about 50 water saving bags for toilet cisterns. These bags save one litre per flush which equates to around 2000 gallons of water saved per year for an average family. As we gave away 50 bags this is around 100,000 litres of water per year.

We have plenty more light bulbs and water bags to hand out at future stalls. Speaking of which, if you have any old bric-a-brac please bring it to future stalls as this is a fantastic way or recycling unwanted items, raises money for the group and doesn’t involve spending money on stock.
