Pollution Campaign Autumn 1989
Our opposition to the relaxation of standards on emissions from sewage works by the Yorkshire Water Authority reached a peak at the end of July. There was a massive response from the public to the campaign, and about 400 signed copies of the draught letter of objection were sent to the Department of the Environment. These were collected within a few hours in Fargate and Barker's Pool.
We are now at the point of diversifying into other areas such as toxic waste, car pollution and tap water quality - so why not come along and get involved.
Next meeting: Mon 11th. September at 7.50, followed by a showing of "Cry me a River" river pollution video, open to all at 9pm.
