Christmas Meal - Monday 15 December

Instead of the usual meeting at 8pm, we are planning to celebrate another successful year of campaigning (and Richard's birthday of course!) with a festive meal in the upstairs room at the Red Deer.

There will be a short meeting at 7pm to get the party started and discuss any important FoE business before the food arrives at 7:30.

Starters

  • Prawn and Crevette Cocktail. Served on a baby gem + cucumber salad with homemade Mary Rose sauce
  • Traditional Sauteed Leek and Potato Soup (V) Served with crusty toasted artisan bread.
  • Char-grilled Halloumi and Chorizo Bruschetta. Served with caramelised onions and red wine and balsamic reduction

Main Course

  • 7 Hills Slow Cooked Lamb Shank. Locally farmed lamb shank marinated overnight in Merlot, thyme and mint and then slow cooked for 4 hours. Served with creamy rosemary mash and Merlot gravy.
  • Quartet of Fish Pie. Oven baked smoked haddock, salmon, coley and tiger prawns seasoned with cloves, parsley and lemon. Topped with smashed new potatoes and served with stir fried seasonal vegetables.
  • Wholesome Aubergine Bake (V).Chargrilled aubergine layered with peppered potato slices in tomato sauce. Served with a sweetcorn,cherry tomato and rocket salad.

All mains are served alongside traditional Brussels sprouts, pigs in blankets, herb roasted carrots and parsnips, roasties and gravy

Dessert

  • Sticky Toffee Pudding. Served with toffee and walnut sauce and vanilla pod icecream
  • Beetroot Chocolate Brownie (V). Warmed and served with winter berry and port coulis
  • Brandy Snaps. Served with strawberries and butterscotch sauce

Price includes exclusive use of the function room, which is decorated in a traditional Christmas fashion including crackers
