Towards the end of 2008, we joined other local Friends of the Earth groups around the country to campaign for the Government to produce 15% of our energy by renewables by 2020. Our second goal was get the energy regulator to switch priorities and make reducing green house gas emissions their main job.The campaign focused on asking local community groups and businesses to support our campaign and contact their MPs. In Sheffield we prioritised local businesses as they hold more weight with the Government. At the end of the campaign we had 10 respectable companies on side.
