Stalls

Green City Days
Green City Days in Hillsborough Park on the 25th & 26th May was the replacement for the mayfest event which was cancelled after last year’s washout. Although we didn’t have enough volunteers to man a stall for two days, we managed to display Maureen’s electric car on the Sunday and run a stall on the bank holiday Monday. The main theme of the day was to ask people to sign an aviation postcard in the shape of a plane to be sent to the government. The campaign was to ask aviation and shipping to be included in the new Climate Change law– at the moment they are excluded.

Totley Festival
For a while we’ve been trying to reach out to general members of the public rather than preaching to the converted. We also want to visit different areas of the city to see as many people as possible. To help us achieve these goals, Liddy and Maureen ran a stall at the very wet Totley Festival on 22nd June.

Green Fair
Several members from Sheffield Friends of the Earth ran a stall at the 23rd Green Fair on the 28th June at St Mary’s Church. We raised some funds by recycling unwanted items on a tombola whilst sampling the delights of locally brewed beer in the sunshine. We handed out more environmental leaflets and Maureen had another opportunity to display her electric car.
