Food Campaigns - January 2004

The decision was made by Sheffield City Council on 29th July to reject the proposed Asda store on Middlewood Road.  The decision may now go to appeal.

It also appears that the Handsworth branch of Asda are wanting to build another road leading into their car park. Local residents have also seen delivery lorries crash into their property and destroy their gardens. At the moment Asda don’t seem very concerned about rectifying the problems.

Rebecca has contacted Sheffield City Council about their policy regarding GM foods. Some members welcomed cyclists travelling through Sheffield to the GM Rally in London
